Don Hampton - Member

Donald was born in Rockford, Illinois that is 90 miles northwest of Chicago, Illinois. He earned an Associate Degree in Business Administration from Rock Valley College, a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice at Illinois State University and graduated with a Masters of Arts Degree in Public Administration from Bradley
University.


Donald has 40 years of retail experience with major companies including McDonald’s and 7/Eleven as well as 15 years social work experience with the National Urban League, State of Illinois, Peoria, Illinois Police Department and New Jersey Bancroft Company.

 

Don has, for decades, been an advocate for DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion), proper community development and a level playing field. He is currently a Precinct Captain in Wimauma, Florida since moving here
in May 2021 after serving in that capacity in Burlington, New Jersey.


Don is a member of the Wimauma Community Plan Advisory Committee board, the South Shore Democratic Club, and the Democratic Party Black Caucus.

 

As a Omega Psi Phi Fraternity and Democratic Party member, he has worked tirelessly, for decades, to register people to vote and inform people the importance of voting in every election. As an Omega man, Don continues to mentor youths, raise scholarship money for high school seniors and fight for DEI.
